1 Knightsbridge
Situated in one of London’s most prestigious addresses, the 1 Knightsbridge project presented a unique blend of challenges and opportunities. Led by ISG, the renovation of this flagship building required a comprehensive Passive Fire Protection (PFP) strategy, with CLM Fireproofing providing essential firestopping and fire door solutions.
1 Knightsbridge

The project instruction consisted of extensive basement works and a complete interior strip-back. CLM integrated fire safety measures within the occupied and high-profile location, adjacent to the Lanesborough Hotel by navigating logistical and operational constraints, including restricted working hours and disruptions during the mourning period following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The scope of works CLM delivered included expert firestopping solutions across multiple floorplates, employing the following:
- Comprehensive surveying and package development for Passive Fire Protection including products from Protecta and FSI batt, mastic, compound, and Flexicoat for 3-sided openings near soffits to accommodate building movement.
ISG entrusted CLM with the complete delivery of fire doorsets for the project, involving:
- Pilot door installations to ensure design approval before full-scale implementation.
- Surveying, removal, and disposal of old doorsets.
- Design, supply, and installation of 87 new fire doorsets and 135 door leaves (primarily double and triple).
- Doorsets included FD60 fire doors with rebated frames, installed within water, gas, and electric service risers.
CLM executed substrate extraction with laser precision to accommodate rebated frames. And coordinated with other contractors for substrate reinstatement and threshold adjustments.
