West Sussex Fire Centre
The West Sussex Fire service training centre and fire station is a scheme situated in Horsham. The state-of-the-art project includes a training tower and breathing apparatus facility as well as a realistic live fire training area. Innovation is at the forefront with the centre also accommodating digital simulations for new recruit training and incident commands.

CLM Fireproofing were selected as specialist fireproofing partner by Willmott Dixon to complete works on the West Sussex fire service training centre and 24-hour operational fire station.
Adequate and compliant firestopping is especially important due to the residential amenities within. CLM worked closely with Willmott Dixon to devise a strategy for the firestopping throughout the 5 buildings.
The specialist team delivered:
- Achieved compliant firestopping solutions through walls and floors
- Installation of fire seals for both fire integrity and insulation values
- Installation of acoustic seals where required

With a focus on sustainability and renewable energy through solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, the project is in-line with West Sussex County Council’s aim for carbon neutral 2030. This aim also supports CLM Fireproofing’s trajectory towards Net Zero Carbon 2030. Part of the CLM strategy for environmental and sustainability development is planning for the future and we will continue to work with the clients to align our goals which will have a positive effect on the wider-community.

West Sussex County Council and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service have taken the decision to name the new building Platinum House in honour of her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
