Fire Door Installation & Maintenance

service overview

Fire Door Installation & Maintenance

CLM delivers a comprehensive range of end-to-end fire door solutions, covering installation, inspection and remediation across residential, commercial and public sector buildings. Our team of FIRAS-certified specialists assess each element of a doorset to confirm that it integrates with a building’s wider fire strategy, supports safe evacuation routes for occupants, and meets regulatory requirements such as Approved Document B, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and the 2023 requirements for regular inspection of communal and residential fire doors.

Performance-Led Remediation

Where possible, our team prioritises remediation over full replacement to reduce cost and disruption, making targeted repairs to restore fire and smoke resistance. This may involve replacing seals, hinges, closers, hardware and other non-compliant components. Any remedial works undertaken will be fully supported by re-certification guidance and compliant documentation for building owners and dutyholders.

Fire Door Installation

We install FD30, FD60 and higher-rated doorsets in timber, composite, steel and aluminium. Our team goes to great lengths to ensure compliance, matching doorsets to fire strategies, required fire resistance periods and any evidence provided by manufacturers. Additionally, all of our fire door installations are referenced against primary test data to confirm performance compliance and ensure proper integration with frames, architraves and structural openings.

Fire Door Surveys

Our operatives carry out detailed inspections to understand the condition and performance of fire doors in line with regulatory requirements. These surveys are highly detailed, encompassing door leaves, frame integrity, hardware condition and clearances, alongside the verification of intumescent and cold smoke seals. By identifying any damage, evidence of misuse or non-compliant gaps that may hinder effective compartmentation, our team can then approach clients with clear, prioritised recommendations for corrective action.

Fire Door Remediation

There are many cases where fire door compliance can be restored through targeted remedial works rather than full replacement. This approach reinstates fire and smoke resistance while minimising cost and disruptions to building operations.

CLM offers specialist CPD training designed to improve industry competence, deepen understanding of evolving regulations, and strengthen capability across passive and active fire protection. Our immersive virtual training suite provides a unique, practical learning experience based on real project environments and three decades of delivery expertise.
