50 Finsbury Square

Situated in close proximity to both Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations in Central London, 50 Finsbury Square is a high-quality refurbishment project. Once completed, the building will comprise nearly 130,000 sq ft of office and retail space, as well as a gym and wellness centre.

CLM Fireproofing was enlisted by Mace to work on an array of passive fire protection projects, which commenced in May 2021. The first stage of this £1.3m project was blast removal, a method of surface preparation that ensures the steelwork is acceptable and in a ready condition prior to the application of intumescent paint, which our team also applied across the project’s steelwork. This is crucial to preserving the building’s structural integrity for the period defined by the fire engineering team in the event of a fire.

 

We also implemented fully-compliant penetration sealing and underfloor cavity barriers throughout 50 Finsbury Park. These works are a vital component of a building’s compartmentation strategy, as they will help to contain the spread of flames and smoke.

 

This project was unique in several ways. Firstly, 50 Finsbury Park had exposed ceilings which meant that all visible work had to be completed with a high-quality design finish. We also installed a variety of bespoke details, due to the building’s unique services and access restraints.
